One of the biggest shows of the year is finally hitting theaters this weekend. Dune was on my most anticipated list by the time I found out it was coming out. Is the big question of the week available on the small screen, the big screen, or both? Here’s what you need to know about the Dune movie.
Denis Villeneuve is one of the most outstanding artistic directors of this generation. If you take a look at his filmography, he’s never been afraid to take a risk. No one can deny this man’s vision for the movies, his critically acclaimed film in Arrival to My Favorite Prisoners or his most recent turn in Blade Runner 2049.
Dune is based on a novel that some have called an unsuitable book. While early reviews said Denis had once again knocked this one out of the stadium from the ball. One thing that intrigues me is how some are going to handle the long term of the film. Is this something that worries you when watching a movie? Let us know?
The top-to-bottom cast is INSANE. From Timothée Chalamet to Oscar Isaac to Zendaya and Rebecca Ferguson, the list goes on and on. The casting alone has our excitement at ten! I can’t wait to see how each character plays out.
Can you stream Dune online from home?
Yes, you absolutely can. Warner Brothers announced late last year that its entire 2021 movie roster would be available on HBO Max at the same time it hits theaters. While some thought they might make a change as the year ended, they held on and you can watch it at home.
Box office numbers will be essential for this film as there are several books the film is based on and Denis has previously stated that he has written the sequel before. Apparently WB has promised a sequel regardless of what happens at the box office, but I’ll believe it when I see it.
Do you plan to go see the movie at the cinema? Let us know.
Dune hits theaters and on HBO Max on October 22, 2021.
