The YMCA of Youngsville will present a free movie on Wednesday, July 28 at 9 p.m. in the Island Park area of the YMCA.
The June 30 movie has been postponed due to bad weather and will be rescheduled.
Those attending free YMCA movies do not need to be a YMCA member to participate and must bring their own blanket and chair. Youngsville Y branch will have $ 1 bags of popcorn
FITNESS POUND LESSONS
Until August 19, the YMCA of Youngsville, 80 Ford St .., is offering a “Pound Fitness” lessons, Tuesdays and / or Thursdays from 6 pm to 6:30 pm The cost is $ 5 per person per lesson and the instructor is Sara Robinson. Call 814-802-1618 for more details and to reserve a spot.
The offices of the borough of Youngsville will be closed on Monday and borough services will not be offered on Monday either. Normal business hours will resume on Tuesday. Garbage regularly picked up on Monday July 5 will now be picked up on Tuesday and Tuesday July 6, garbage collection is now scheduled for Wednesday.
FREE CHAPMAN STATE PARK
A family fishing program will be offered from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday Sept. 2. The free program is open to all ages 5 and up and will be led by Chad Foster of the State Fish and Boat Commission .
The fishing license requirement is waived for the duration of the program for participants aged 16 and over. Children under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Participants will learn the basics of fishing, including casting, knots, and bait selection. Fishing equipment, bait and instruction will be provided during the program, but participants can bring their own fishing rod if they wish.

SPORTS BOOSTER JUBILEE
The Youngsville Eagles Sports Boosters celebrate their Summer Jubilee on Friday July 23 and Saturday July 24 at the Youngsville Fire Hall. Boosters are also looking for local businesses and organizations to participate in the Jubilee Parade on Saturday, July 24 at 4 p.m. 730-5581.
Events for Friday 23 include:
A fish fries from 5 p.m. until exhausted,
¯ Cornhole tournament which costs $ 20 per team with registration from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., the tournament starting at 6 p.m.
¯ Children’s Carnival from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. including a dunk stand, carnival games, face painting, cotton candy, a food vendor, and Bubble Gum Machine with shows at 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
¯ Youngsville Volunteer Fire Department Truck Room from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with games of chance, dollar bills with purchase of mug (ID required), gift basket and zippers. Free cash tickets are available at the Youngsville Borough office. Tickets cost $ 10 each. Four winners of $ 500 will be drawn on July 24 during the Summer Jubilee.
Saturday July 24, events include:
¯ The parade starts at 4 p.m. at the corner of Davis and East Main streets and continues west on East Main Street to IOOF Street,
¯ Chicken barbecue from 5 p.m. until full,
¯ Children’s carnival from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the presence of local K9 cops
¯ Youngsville Volunteer Fire Truck Room from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with games of chance, dollar bills with mug purchase (ID required), basket pulls and the necessary experience of the 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Those who are not computer savvy or prefer to mail in a paper registration form can visit the Youngsville Public Library for assistance. The library has free hard copies of the following Warren County Fair registration forms available at the loan desk. PUBLIC LIBRARY NEWS
Youngsville Public Library Summer “Fiction and fitness with friends” The program begins July 13.
No registration is required to attend.
The dates of the free program are Tuesdays: July 13, 20, 27 and August 3 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the front porch of the Youngsville YMCA branch, facing Island Park. Join Library Director Kristy Wallace for stories, take-out, songs and more for the first 45 minutes of each day. Stories and activities are aimed at ages 4-8, but all ages are welcome.
Parents and guardians are requested to accompany the children. Then immediately after the “Fiction” part of the program, children will be encouraged to stay “Aptitude” part of the program. Children will be able to play with the various family outdoor games and toys that Youngsville Y has to offer, such as: cornhole, hoops, a giant Jenga game, basketballs and other equipment.
In addition, a complimentary one-day guest pass will be provided to non-Y parent / guardian, courtesy of the Youngsville YMCA branch. The day pass can be used by non-members to explore the YMCA of Youngsville facilities and / or use the Y equipment.
Social distancing rules are still in effect for libraries, which is why the program takes place outside the Youngsville Public Library building. More summer programming will be announced soon.
