Toronto’s IMAX Cinesphere Shows FREE Movies All Weekend


Looking for free activities this Canada Day? Ontario Place has you covered. You can watch free movies at the IMAX Cinesphere throughout the long weekend.

Ontario Place’s permanent IMAX theater will screen free movies as part of its Canada Day weekend lineup, which also includes live music and yoga at Trillium Park, art installations immersive, and more.

The films are described as educational and immersive documentaries that are all the more fun to watch in the IMAX theater as it features the most advanced cinema technology in the world.

Screen, picture quality, sound, color and contrast are enhanced to make you feel like you’re truly immersed in the movie.

Asteroid Hunters: The IMAX Experience will play from July 1 to July 3 at 2 p.m., and The Last Glaciers: The IMAX Experience will take place from July 1 to 3 at 5 p.m.

“Asteroid Hunters takes you to deep space for a look at asteroids, their cosmic origins, and the potential threat they pose to our world,” according to the the description by the Ontario Science Centre.

The last glaciers is described as “the most comprehensive film ever produced on the relationship between climate change, mountain environments and glaciers”.
