Is the film streaming or at the cinema?

The past 18 months have been an eventful time for movie releases with the Covid-19 pandemic forcing films to go online or delay their release dates.

Despite the changing landscape, new films have found their way onto screens one way or another and legendary director Ridley Scott’s latest addition, The Last Duel, is finally here.

But where will be available to watch The Last Duel? Will the film be broadcast in streaming or only in theaters?

The Last Duel release date and plot

After a release originally slated for December 2020, The Last Duel will finally hit screens on October 15, 2021 in the US and UK, although the film’s release date differs slightly depending on the country in question.

Directed by the legendary Ridley Scott, The Last Duel tells the 14th century story of Marguerite de Carrouges who claims to have been raped by Jacques Le Gris, her husband’s best friend and squire.

With his reputation at stake, Marguerite’s husband, the formidable knight Jean de Carrouges, challenges Jacques to a combat trial in what would be the last legally sanctioned duel in French history.

Where to watch The Last Duel

The Last Duel will be available exclusively in theaters when it releases worldwide in October.

That’s right, moviegoers will have to venture out to the movies to watch The Last Duel on the big screen.

Movie buffs in the US can check out theaters showing The Last Duel here while UK readers will be able to do the same here once the film has been released.

According to Variety, The Last Duel will have a 45-day exclusive airing in theaters before moving to digital platforms.

Once the 45 days have passed, the film is scheduled to be available on digital stores such as Google Play and the Amazon Prime Video store.

On top of that, if The Last Duel hits streaming sites, its likely destination will be Hulu or Disney + as 20th Century Studios is now under the Disney umbrella.
