The Mountaineer will be available to watch in theaters upon initial release.

It’s true, moviegoers will have to venture out to the cinema to watch L’Alpiniste on the big screen.

Readers in the US and UK can check out the locations that will be showing the film here, where tickets are also on sale.

As the film is exclusive to theaters upon its release, the documentary will not be available on any of the major streaming services.

However, there is nothing to say that The Alpinist won’t be available on Netflix or Amazon Prime Video somewhere later.

What happened to Marc-André Leclerc? [spoilers]

Marc-André Leclerc died on March 5, 2018 at the age of 25.

While Marc-André Leclerc was considered an extremely talented mountaineer, the documentary also highlights the danger of mountaineering as the film also discusses his tragic death.

In the spring of 2018, Marc-André and his climbing partner, Ryan Johnson, successfully completed a new route on the north face of Mendenhall Towers in Alaska.

The duo were due to return to base camp on March 7, but they never returned.

A search operation started but suffered delays due to bad weather.

Eventually, ropes were found along Marc-André and Ryan’s descent route, suggesting they had been caught in an avalanche or rockfall, according to Outside Online.

Their bodies have never been found.
