2 free films from Philadelphia filmmakers at the 30th Film Festival

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) – The 30th Philadelphia Film Festival, which is currently taking place across the city, has free offers through its PFS On Us series.

One of the films is “Bill Mauldin: If It’s Big, Hit It,” which airs Sunday at 2:30 pm at the PFS Bourse Theater.

The film is also in the Filmadelphia category of the festival, showcasing the work of local filmmakers.

Here is the description of the film courtesy of the festival:

“Pulitzer Prize-winning satirical cartoonist Bill Mauldin is the subject of this insightful new documentary directed by acclaimed local filmmakers Don Argott and Sheena M. Joyce.”

Argott and Joyce will both be in attendance.

Another film from the PFS On Us & Filmadelphia series, “All About My Sisters”, is also airing this weekend. It’s playing Sunday at 10:30 am at the Théâtre de la Bourse PFS. Director Wang Qiong will be present.

Here is the description of this film:

“For several years, Temple graduate assistant Wang Qiong focused the camera on her family, exploring the deep pain and lingering effects of China’s devastating one-child policy.”
